Set the limit while you are calm
Deposit, loss and session limits live in the account settings and take effect the moment you save them. Lowering a limit applies straight away; raising one waits, on purpose, so a decision made in the middle of a session cannot undo one made in the morning.
Most players who use limits set a weekly deposit cap and forget about it. That is the whole point.
Taking a break
A cooling-off period locks the account for a fixed stretch, from a day to a few weeks. Self-exclusion goes further and closes access for a longer term. Live chat can start either one, and neither requires a reason.
While a break is active the account cannot be reopened early, and any balance stays where it is until the period ends.
Signs worth taking seriously
Chasing a loss with a bigger stake, borrowing money to play, hiding how much you play from people close to you, or playing to escape something else: these are the signals that matter, and they rarely improve on their own.
